James Lin has been an avid video gamer for the past twenty-three years. He spent a decade on Wall Street in equity research where he covered the consumer digital media, technology and interactive entertainment sectors. As Founder and Managing Partner of industry consultancy The SIMBA Group, LLC, James continues to provide digital media industry players with valuable strategic, operational and product input, as he has over the course of his career. In 2000, Lin was named to the Wall Street Journal All Star Team for excellence in stock picking. He has been bestowed with other awards for exceptional investment recommendations such as, The 2001 Scarlet ‘A’ Award from The Liberty Acorn Family of Funds. Lin hails most recently from Jefferies & Co., where he served as Managing Director and Senior Analyst covering the digital media and leisure sectors. Prior to Jefferies, he was Managing Director and Senior Analyst at Tucker Anthony Sutro where he also served as Head of the Technology Research Group. Other experience includes: Director and Senior Analyst at ING Barings, and Senior Vice President and Head of Technology Research at Wedbush Morgan Securities. Lin started his equity research career at Morgan Stanley in New York, where he focused on the PC Software and Internet/New Media sectors. He currently serves as a director on the board of Global Window Partners, a leading provider of distance learning content and courseware. He holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Leonard Stern School of Business at New York University, Certificate of Accounting from the University of California, Los Angeles, and Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
